Remembering the Past . . . in the ERA of COVID
Sorry I just have to vent. So tired of the COVID bad news.
Since we’ve forgotten the past, we are ill equipped to handle the present or the future.
A hundred years ago, there was a strange illness with no known cure. Like COVID 19, it attacked the lungs and organs. People infected coughed up blood, withered away and died. It spread like wildfire through tight living quarters. It was later identified as Tuberculosis.
Eventually it was discovered that Ultraviolet-C (UV-C) light would kill the “bug” causing the Tuberculosis infection. In the sanitariums, UV-C wall lamps were used to sanitize the air and stop the infection spread. . .
Today we have a new “bug” called COVID-19. Like Tuberculosis, it affects the lungs and organs and spreads in closed environments*(see linked article below). Like Tuberculosis, Ultraviolet-C light is effective in killing it in the air and on surfaces.**(Columbia University Irving Medical Center, see link below)
Ultraviolet-C light is a higher intensity light than regular sunlight. It is too strong for skin or living surfaces, but when properly used e.g. wall lamp high on a wall or shielded as part of an air filtration system, it can kill most bacteria, viruses and SARS viruses–including COVID-19**(Columbia University Irving Medical Center, see link below)
